"Cindy made classes fun! I'd worried that with such a long class it could be tedious, but her charisma and caring made it so much more than I could have hoped for. I feel prepared for the road ahead. I'm so much more confident in my abilities now that I've finished her class. I'm so glad I can call her when I need it!

Natural Childbirth Classes
Enhanced with the Evidence Based Birth® Six Steps to Getting Evidence Based Care.

Bradley Method® classes are holistically designed. During our time together we will cover loads of information so you can have the best possible chance at the birth of your desires.
Classes are intentionally small, usually with 3-6 partners, so that each person will receive individual attention and have their concerns addressed. Topics include building your birth team, relaxation, guided meditation, the labor and birth process, exercise, informed consent, nutrition, birth coaching, birth plans, labor support techniques, massage, Yoga Nidra, visualizations, breastfeeding/nursing, the postpartum period, and anything else you wish to discuss. I use visual aids, games, and videos where available, as well as fun activities in my sessions.
My natural birth prep and Bradley Method classes also contain the Evidence Based Birth® Six Steps to getting evidence based care. In this class, you will learn official Evidence Based Birth® content about how to choose a provider and talk with your provider, how to choose a birth setting, how to gather your support team, and how to plan your birth. You will also learn your essential rights in childbirth—information that every pregnant person should know, but rarely does! I am the only birth instructor in North West New Jersey, (serving areas like Morristown, Mount Olive, Hackettstown, and Montclair) who is trained to give this well-designed information to families.

"Honestly, this was my first pregnancy. I was terrified and I didn't know, what I didn't know. Cindy helped me to understand what my expectations should be, and what was normal. This helped me set my expectations in a range that helped me feel successful for my first birth. I was able to give birth to twins naturally and without drugs (other than pitocin)."

I'm not sure if I want to have a completely natural birth. Will your class still help me?
These childbirth prep classes are designed to help students understand pregnancy, labor, birth, and their newborn. The more you understand, the less fear you'll have when it comes to your birth. We talk in depth about informed consent and being an educated consumer in your choices. I help arm you with knowledge of interventions, medication options, and unexpected situations, so you can work with your birth team as active participants, and make the choices you feel are right for your unique situation. Know that no matter how you birth, there is no judgment from me. As a doula I have supported all types of births with great love and care. I trust you to decide what is best for you and your baby.
What is the best childbirth class? What about Bradley vs. Lamaze or Bradley vs. Hypnobirth / Hypnobabies? What is the difference between Evidence Based Birth® & The Bradley Method® Classes?
The best birth class for your family will very much depend on what type of birth experience you are looking for and how you learn best.
If you are looking for an in-depthclass that is pro natural birth, one that teaches you about pregnancy, informed consent, how to team with your provider, coaching skills, many different comfort measures for your personal toolbox, then my Bradley Method or private natural childbirth classes are likely what you are looking for.
If you are looking for an equally in-depth class that focuses less on medicated vs. non-medicated birth, but on Comfort, Evidence, and Advocacy then Evidence Based Birth® Childbirth Classes are likely right for you. The EBB classes are a unique "flipped classroom" hybrid in-person (virtual during the COVID-19 crisis) and online class, and I was one of the first instructors in the world able to teach these amazing classes.
As an independent childbirth instructor I work for you- not your provider or birth place. I have no vested interest in selling you on any certain intervention or procedure.

What are Bradley Method classes like?
Bradley classes include lots of discussion, role plays, visual aids, hands on comfort measures, etc. Cindy has been described by students as earthy and genuine, with a wicked sense of humor. If you're looking for a straight-laced instructor, this probably isn't the class for you. Cindy has both an extreme reverence for birth and parents making their own decisions, while also putting her own irreverent, sometimes hilarious spin on things. We're talking about bodies, and babies, and birth, and if we can't see the humor in all the bits and pieces it would be a really boring class.
Do you offer a birth refresher course?
Yes! If you have had a baby before I can tailor a private in-home refresher course to meet your needs.
Do you offer private natural birth education?
Some couples feel more comfortable having private in-home sessions. If this resonates with you I am happy to offer this alternative to traditional group Bradley classes.
How much do your Bradley classes cost?Prices range from $375-$425 per couple for a group Bradley class to $450-$500 for a private natural birth class.

When are your classes held?
Our child birth classes do not take place on a fixed day of the week. Instead, the day and time varies, and is based on the availability and needs of the families who choose to work with me. If we need to meet at different days and times each week to fit the child birth class into all our hectic schedules, then that is what we'll do. I know how busy everyone's lives are, and I really try to honor that in scheduling birthing classes.
In general classes begin every 2-3 months for 2-3 hours each week. I try to be as flexible as possible to accommodate families.

Where are your natural childbirth education classes held?

During the COVID-19 crisis all classes will be online via Zoom call. Once groups are allowed to congregate again, private in-home classes will be held in client homes in North Jersey, Central Jersey, and Northeast Pennsylvania (NEPA.)
I offer group classes in much of Northern New Jersey, usually in the home of one of the families, as not renting a space reduces the cost of classes to all my clients.
A discount is offered to the couple/family who allows us to use their home.
Areas that I hold in-person group classes include but are not limited to:
